Discover The Mystery Of Emily!
At the turn of the century, the Rattenbachs ran a business and raised their daughter, Emily, at the current Tally Ho location. Unfortunately, Emily grew up to lead an unhappy life; trying to raise her two young daughters in a house ran by an abusive husband.
Around 1934, in an effort to rid himself of his responsibilities, Emily’s husband had her committed to an asylum and placed his daughters in a local orphanage. During that era, a woman was usually unable to obtain her freedom from such an institution without her husband’s consent!
In 1936 Emily died in the asylum, never knowing what became of
her two daughters. Longing for her children, Emily’s ghost is said to roam the grounds of Tally Ho. Over the years, guests and staff have reported seeing someone at the top of the stairs, hearing footsteps and laughter in the basement.
While you may not believe in ghosts, we’re hoping you believe in good food, a hearty pint and friendly faces, as that’s what you’re going to find at Tally Ho these days.
Steeped in history and lore, Tally Ho continues to welcome new generations of guests. Slainte!
